Issues of abolition of Baranovichi, Bobruisk, Pinsk, Polesie and Polotsk regions
In accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 8, 1954 “On the abolition of the Baranovichi, Bobruisk, Pinsk, Polesie and Polotsk regions of the Byelorussian SSR”, the Council of Ministers of the Byelorussian SSR DECIDED:
1. To liquidate the Baranovichi, Bobruisk, Pinsk, Polesie and Polotsk regional executive committees and all regional institutions and organizations before February 1, 1954.
2. Establish that workers released in connection with the liquidation of the regional apparatus of Soviet, economic and cooperative organizations must be sent to work on collective farms, state farms, MTS and to strengthen district organizations.
3. To resolve issues related to the abolition of regions, approve commissions consisting of:
for the Baranovichi region - t.t. Basov G.F. (chairman), Ledenev V.V., Kilbin A.O., Bugrov M.A., Prokasho G.V., Belyatsky A.Yu.;
in the Polotsk region - t.t. Kuteynikov I.P. (chairman), Shipko A.I., Belyavskaya A.A., Kozlovsky I.I., Tomilin N.A.;
in Bobruisk region - t.t. Paduto I.A. (chairman), Kozlov K.I., Belyaev A.K., Kononovich P.F., Krivitsa S.S.;
for the Polesie region, t.t. Popov N.N. (chairman), Klimenko M.A., Sambuk F.I. and Anishchenko N.I.;
in the Pinsk region - t.t. Samuylenko F.A., (chairman), Oleshkevich M.L., Samusevich K.T. and Timoshenko I.A.
4. Instruct the chairmen of the commissions to submit, within 5 days, to the Council of Ministers of the BSSR proposals on the distribution of property of the liquidated regional executive committees, their departments and departments, regional economic organizations and institutions, as well as to resolve issues on the transfer of documents and archival materials to the relevant regional executive committees and on the use of vacated buildings .
5. Oblige the Ministers and heads of departments of the BSSR to send their responsible representatives to the abolished regions to resolve locally issues related to the liquidation of institutions of their system.
6. Oblige the Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev and Molodechensk regional executive committees to immediately establish direct contact with the regions and cities included in these regions and ensure proper leadership of them.
7. Instruct the State Planning Committee of the BSSR to submit to the Council of Ministers of the BSSR within ten days a draft of the necessary changes to the national economic plan for 1954.
8. Oblige commissions created to resolve issues of the abolished oblasts to submit reports to the Council of Ministers of the BSSR by February 1, 1954 on the completion of work on the liquidation of regional executive committees, their departments, directorates and regional institutions and organizations.
